Dr. Nasr: “We work as one team to establish investment projects in Qalyubia … MIIC will coordinate with the private sector in presenting investment opportunities in the governorate to investors”.
 
The Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr, the Minister of Antiquities Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, and Governor of Qalyubia Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Ashmawy held a meeting, in presence of Deputy-Minister of Tourism Ms. Adela Ragab, Head of the Executive Sector of the General Authority for  Roads, Bridges & Land Transport (GARBLT) at the Ministry of Transportation Eng. Samy Farag, Vice-President of the Agriculture Research Center for Guidance and Training Affairs at the Ministry of Agriculture Dr. Alaa Azzouz, and Head of the Central Department for Water Resources and Irrigation in Qalyubia Eng. Tarek Awwad.
 
The meeting discussed El-Qanater El-Khayreya Development Project and investment opportunities in Qalyubia, besides benefiting from its archaeological sites in establishing investment and tourism projects that would contribute to attracting investors and tourists such as hotels, educational parks for kids and a walkway for tourists. Introducing new means of transportation to ensure the project’s success and attract investors and tourists, and developing the chalets area by building a new hotel following the style of historic buildings in the governorate were also discussed during the meeting. 
 
The participants were briefed by the Governor of Qalyubia on El-Qanater El-Khayreya Development Project which includes the establishment of a distinguished river transportation network of an archaeological nature. This is besides offering the area to investors to develop it and attract tourists through establishing restaurants, cafeteria, trade areas, green areas as well as organizing competitions and river shows, and marina . 
 
Further, the meeting tackled developing and maintaining bridges and historic buildings at El-Qanater El-Khayreya, introducing night lights, promoting monuments in the city and including them in all printed materials of the Ministry of Antiquities, and raising the efficiency of all parks in terms of forestation and flooring. This is in addition to updating the irrigation network, reviewing all transportation networks from the governorate to Cairo and Giza, supporting El-Qanater El-Khayreya with several internal and external cruises and providing the city with a number of tourist guides.
 
In addition, the meeting touched on establishing a cooperation protocol between line ministries and Qalyubia governorate in setting up investment projects there.
 
Dr. Nasr reiterated the necessity that the Ministries of Investment, Antiquities, Irrigation, Transportation, Tourism and Agriculture work as one team with Qalyubia governorate to establish investment and tourism projects and develop means of transportation. She noted that MIIC would coordinate with the private sector in presenting the governorate’s investment opportunities to investors, indicating that several investors expressed their keenness on investing in El-Qanater El-Khayreya.
 
On his part, the Minister of Antiquities emphasized that the ministry would organize a river trip called “Hapi” to visit the archeological sites in Qalyubia. 
 
As for Governor of Qalyubia, he emphasized that the governorate welcomed and encouraged investors and provided them with logistic support, noting that such investment areas were strategically located near the Banha-Shubra El-Kheima new international regional road.
